Matcha and Rose pair so well together! I’ve been wanting to purchase a donut pan for so long and I finally took the plunge and got it! I first made a popular matcha donut recipe that I found online and I hated the consistency, it was so dry and had no flavor I was so disappointed! I decided to just wing it and develop my own recipe,
Matcha Rose Donuts:
-1+1/3 cup flour
-1 teaspoon baking powder
-1/2 teaspoon baking soda
-1 teaspoon matcha powder
-1/3 cup coconut sugar + 2 tablespoons brown sugar
-1/4 cup coconut oil (I did half coconut and half vegetable bc i ran out of coconut oil)
-1 large egg
-1/2 cup almond mik
-1 tablespoon rosewater
-1 tablespoon vanilla
-1/4 teaspoon salt
Frosting:
-1.5 cups powdered sugar
-2 teaspoons matcha
-1 teaspoon rose water
-1 teaspoon almond milk
-1 teaspoon vanilla
Garnish: Edible roses
Directions:
In a bowl mix the dry ingredients together. In a separate bowl mix the wet ingredients together then add the dry ingredients and mix with a wooden spoon. Fill up your donut tray about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way full and bake at 400° for 10 minutes or until a knife comes out clean.
As for the frosting, whisk the ingredients together. If you need the consistency to be more wet add more almond milk, if you need it to be thicker just add more powdered sugar. When the donuts are completely cooled, spoon the frosting on top and add edible roses.
